What are some helpful hints for writing an argumentative paper?

My professor didn't really go into this.

One helpful tip in writing argumentative papers is to always provide strong support for the stance you are taking. At the same time though, make sure you always bring up the opposing arguments to your opinion. An argumentative paper is in essence an opinion piece, so as long as you show reliable information and sources, you can do no wrong.

First, establish a conversation. Don't create your argument in a vacuum; instead, state what others have said about the issue, and then take your own stance in relationship to the other viewpoints. Second, your conclusion should not be a summary of the argument, but should instead answer the questions "So what?" and "Where do we go from here?"

Well, argumentative paper requires main ideas happenings and thesis related to the topic given and must put them line-wise so that one can understand easily.
