Try mixing baking soda with vinegar! You'll get a bubbly explosion! Try mixing baking powder with water. It is a liquid, yet it won't ever splash!

You could always make volcanoes. This is done by making models of volcanoes out of paper mache. You can then let them dry and let the children paint them. To make the eruption you mix one table spoon of baking soda, one table spoon of dish washing soap and read food coloring. Take them outside and their volcanoes erupt.

Create biodegradable gel. Create glow in the dark liquids and solids. Test the local soil for MRSA or other dangerous bacteria. Do bacterial cultures after different hand washing techniques.
