On an internet date, make sure you dont sound to desperate. Ask about the other person's hobbies, what kind of movies he/she likes, her favorite music. Ask her about her family. Then only try to get her phone number and set up a date.

If you ever intend on meeting this person in person ask them anything you can think of. Ask where they're from, about their family, things they like, about their childhood, etc. If the answers seem fishy I suggest you don't meet the person. These days you don't know who's genuine.

The good part about internet dating is that you can find out all kinds of things before meeting, and I would suggest that you talk on the phone before deciding to meet.... just to be sure they can really put a sentence together.

Same questions you'd ask somebody if you were right beside them: what are there interests, what do they do for a living, what are there future goals, what is there family background, etc.
