Rubber Plants, Ficus Pandurata, Dracaena and Dieffenbachia Plants as well as Ornamanetal Pepper plants also known as Christmas Pepper Plants. Do not eat the pepper's as they are poison, they are just for decoration.
Philodendron grows in almost every household, and needs very little care or plant expertise. Spider plants are very visually appealing and are also easy to grow. Christmas cactus, scissor leafs, and peace lilies are all easy to grow and interesting to look at.
Low maintenance suggestions would include coleus, areca palm, rubber plant, spider plant, and Schefflera. If you are looking for a little bit more of a challenge, you might think about growing African violets or any of the thousands of species of orchid. If you are interested in a little novelty, you could try a coffee plant, or venus fly trap.
Any type of indoor ivy is good. I personaly like spider plants for indoors the most it is tough and will survive almost any neglect. Remember to water but not over water.
