Electric charges in fruits and vegetables. Use a Potato and insert two electrodes into it, connect wires and then to a multimeter which will give the amps of the charge.

I remember my son making a seismograph in 5th grade. It was fairy easy to make and fun for him to explain. I also remember some kids doing "go green" projects - such as compost projects.

Build a catapult. A small one. See how far it can throw different things such as a paper ball or a foil ball. You can also use different weights. Graph your results.

Here is a free project. How fast do leaves compost? Do they compost faster or slower with the addition of water? Does the amount of water change the results? Does the sun change the results? Does mulching the leaves first make it compost faster? Does turning the pile make a difference?
