Knitting and crocheting groups are a great hobby for elderly women. Walking for fitness is also a great hobby. There are 5k walks that she could enter into.

My mother is 79 years old and likes to crochet, quilt by hand and do jigsaw puzzles. She also likes to do easy crossword and word search puzzles.

Some rectangle plastic canvas and yarn are great for crafts, she can make place mats easily and it is fun weaving the yarn through the plastic canvas.
