Wear your seatbelt and make sure you buckle up. Make sure the air pressure in your tires are at the proper setting and make sure you have enoguh gas.

There are a couple of key points here. You want to make sure all the doors are closed when the car is moving. Always buckle your seat belts! The most important thing is to ensure that everybody feels safe with whoever is driving the car. You don't want a mutiny!
