Something related to his hobbies. A trip to a place he is interested in. Money or a voucher for his favorite shop always make a good gift.

If he has a car, choose something for it. If he likes sports, tickets or team clothing are hits. If he likes tools, add to them. If he likes the outdoors, something practical or a related t or sweatshirt. A multi-use tool (Leatherman or Swiss Army knife) is always good.

Depending on your state or provincial laws, alcohol, adult films, or taking the fellow out for a night on the town with his friends. There should be a designated driver and ideally a back-up as well.

If your guy friend is anything like my husband he may like vintage video game systems. Those would be things like the Original Nintendo, the Super Nintendo or older.
