A fun and enjoyable 30th birthday theme would be a luau. Decor could include tiki torches and palms, as well as flowers. You could serve roast pork, fruit kebabs and colorful drinks with umbrellas in them. Don't forget to pass out leis to your guests!

Since people turning 30 were born in the '80s, an '80s theme party is a fun idea that celebrates the birthday person without the silly "over the hill" stuff.

the decade in which the person was born, like a 70's theme or 80's theme. You could also do a "college flashback party" where you use music and food/drinks that were popular when the person was in college.

Many people turning 30 read the Harry Potter books, so have a Potter party! It can be a costume party, and you can serve Quidditch meat pie and Broomstick Salad.

Each party guest can bring thirty things to celebrate someone's thirtieth birthday. The gifts do not have to be expensive. Jesus was thirty when he started his ministry so everyone can wear biblical costumes. The cake can have thirty spiritual candles. The sum of four squares is thirty so you can have a square dance.
