The most used embalming technique is arterial embalming. This is done by raising the appropriate vessels and injecting the embalming solution in the artery while draining out of the vein. The most common vessels are the right common carotid artery and right jugular vein. The index (strength)of the solution depends on the condition of the body along with different variables.

There are dozens of embalming techniques used throughout the world. In order to answer you, I'd have to know which country and religion. I'd further have to know if you were talking today or historically, when you refer to embalming techniques. The one I use is generally Remy Martin XO, neat in a snifter.
