education

Question by  Surendra (18)

What are some educational activities for preschoolers?

I have young children at home that I need to keep occupied during the upcoming cold months. I need activities that will help them to learn their sight words and letters.

I personally think just reading them short stories will help, but you can always use blocks. If you can make cardboard forts, you could label each part of the house (ie door, window, table, etc). This way they learn to make associations.

Several churches maintain a day care or preschool service, I would check with them as they are likely to have excellent suggestions for fun education opportunities for you year round.

They are many resources available for you to keep your children occupied. Many stores carry educational tools for children of their age such as games, boys, and toys.

Make letters and words together out of a variety of things such as shaving cream, finger paint, play-do, and sand paper. This gives repetition but it's also fun.
