These trees are susceptible to fire blight and entomosporium leaf spot. Both these diseases can kill the tree if they are not treated effectively. The tree is not that susceptible to insects but there is the risk it can succumb to a webworm invasion.

Bradford Pear trees get fire blight, where the twigs and branches turn black and may form a crook. There is also a purplish leaf spot called entomosporium leaf spot which affects the leaves. Bradford pear also has problems due to the environment. If water is inadequate, they get leaf scorch. Their poor branch angle is a result of storm damage.

The Bradford Pear Trees are pest resistant still web worms have great effect on them. They usually suffer from Fireblight, caused by bacteria, blackening the end of leaves and gradually infecting the fruits. Their leaves will darken due to drought or too much water. Root stress and fire blight(bacterial) can cause problems. Pear psylla causes leaves to yellow and the tree to become "droopy"; this invites fungus.

I believe they can get fungus on them. If you add fertilizer to the soil once in a while they should be able to prevent disease.
