You could plan some type of suprise including activites that both of you enjoy and can do together. It could be a weekend trip, or just a night out. Something that shows you have put a lot of thoughts and his likes & feelings into consideration with the planning of the occasion.

Some great ideas for that would be to investigate the top 3 things he wants or desires and try to give them to him, give him unique things, things that you know nobody else would give him because only you know how important they are for him, Another thing could be to arrange a romantic dinner for both. That's nice!

Give your boyfriend a gift of something he really cares about. If he is a golfer, buy him a series of golf lessons. If he is a bowler, give him a gift certificate so he can buy a custom made new bowling ball. The key is something HE cares about.

Really thoughtful, personalized gifts for the holidays is a great way to show someone how much you care. It doesn't have to be expensive, just something that he had mentioned one time he really wants, or something that will really surprise him. Also, writing something really sentimental in the card is cute too.
