Middle children are very often agreeable and easy-going. They are good diplomats and can readily handle people and adapt to many different situations. Being in the middle of the birth order enables them to avoid trying to be number one or wanting to be pampered by others in the form of flattery.

Middle children tend to be silent and calm. Research tells that middle children often are or do feel neglected by parents and this can of course affect their personalities. The first child, being the eldest, is often more responsible than the younger ones. The youngest child is treated as and thus acts as "the little baby" and gets most attention.

It absolutely makes a difference, because a parent can't help but treat the kids differently. A middle child will blend, be quiet, but maybe act out for attention.
