Scrapie is a transmisable disease that affects the central nervous system of sheep. Orf virus is a contagious condition that consists of sores in a goat's mouth. However, worms are the most common ailment for sheep. Stomach worms can cause sleep distress but more notably the Barber Pole Worm can cause widespread death in a flock.

Footrot is one of the common disease of sheep.It cause of bacteria in the soil and in infected feet.Foot scald is also a disease cause of bacteria on long wet spring pasture.Other common diseases of sheep are internal and external parasites,metabolic disease,bearings,mastitis,clostridial disease,mineral deficiencies,scabby mouth,johnes disease,facial eczema,ryegrass stagger, and poison commonly in plants.
