The golden lion tamarin is native to Brazil and is approx. the size of a squirrel. Its most distinguishing feature is that it has an orange mane. At present there are belived to be less than 1000 individual animals living in the wild, therefore it is included in the endangered spieces list.

The tiny golden lion tamarin is native to the lowlands and coastal rain forests of Southeastern Brazil. They eat fruit, insects, and smaller animals than themselves. The packs are made up of families, the siblings and parents all raising the young together. Only about 1,500 are left in the wild.

The Golden Lion Tamarin is also known as the Golden Marmoset. It's native area is the Atlantic coastal forests of Brazil. It is an endangered species with only around 1000 left in the wild and about 490 in captivity.
