What are reasonable gifts for a second marriage?

If your friend has a wedding registry you could always get something from off of that. I have a wedding to go to in October and this is my friend's seccond marriage and I just plan to give her either a gift card to a store that she has a wedding registry for or just a personal check.

As a rule of thumb, I drop the price of my gift by 50% each time a friend is remarried. So if you spent $100 on your friend before, you'll most likely want to spend around $50 this time. Your friend won't be offended, it's not like this was the only wedding he had.

I would probably give them a gift card from their special store. Since they have everything from their first marriage, they would probably like to something out themselves. Or you could get them a weekend at a Hotel, or dinner reservations, or tickets for a favorite play. Find out what they like to do and zoom in on that.

I'd go with a beautiful crystal or silver photo frame - no one ever has enough photo frames. Or some luxury monogrammed bath towels - the jumbo size - you can never have enough of those either. Or if you don't mind the crassness of a gift card, you can get them one from a hardware store.

Well, they probably already have all the household stuff they need. I would go with more of a gift basket idea, say if they like coffee, give them a gift basket of different flavors to try.
