First there is an aspiration of the mass and/or lymph node is done. If the sarcoma isn't confirmed in the aspiration then they do a biopsy. First option if applicable is surgery to remove the tumor or tumors. Also in some cases there will be radiation therapy.

Surgery is typically the preferred treatment. Radiation therapy may be used alone as a pain treatment (but not cure) or along with surgery to kill the remaining cancerous cells if the entire tumor cannot be removed. In very aggressive cases, chemotherapy may prevent or slow the spread of the disease.

Surgery is the most common treatment for a soft tissue sarcoma in a dog. Such a surgery requires that a large and deep enough area so that all of the tumor tissue is removed. When surgery is not a viable option then radiation therapy or chemotherapy can be sought out as options.

The tumor is removed surgically at the original location. Sometimes radiation therapy is used in combination with surgery. Chemotherapy is used to prevent the formation of metastases.

You need to talk to your vet about that they can give you some pamphlets that have a lot of really good information on the subject in them and alot of time just spending wuality time with the dog is part of the perscribed treatment they do very well as long as they know you will be there with them.

This is the most common cancer in dogs, treatments will vary depending on severity but commonality makes it most practiced and very safe to treat-though also fairly expensive without pet insurance, removal of tumor and 1-2 years of follow up will be necessary.seek insurance after treatment completion

You'll want to talk to your vet about the specific treatment for your dog. Treatment varies depending on the dog, so it is important to take everything on a case by case basis.

With any disease in dogs, there are no normal treatments. A lot of it depends on the individual dog and the vet.

Common treatments are surgery, radiation therapy and chemotherapy. Surgery can be used alone or with radiation therapy to treat the tumor and chemotherapy is to prevent or slow down metastasis.
