This is a semi-metallic gemstone with magnetic qualities. Natural Magnetite beads have a mild magnetism. Synthetic Magnetite can be extremely magnetic. Strings of magnetite beads have been used as bracelets, anklets, and necklaces to help with everything from migraines to arthritis. There are, of course people on both sides of the issue about its benefits. It has worked for me.

Magnetic beads are jewelry that is made from polish stones or metals that are magnetic. Some people wear them because they like the way look other feel they have health benefits relating to circulation and nerves. There is little widely accepted evidence that this is true.
