Determiners are simply words that are used with nouns to clarify the noun. They may define someone or state quantifiers, possessives, articles, and ordinals. Examples are; a, an, first, second, his, hers, whose, a few, many, my, your, and his. Singular nouns need a determiner, plural nouns, it is optional.

Determiner, in grammar is a word that belongs to the 'noun modifiers', and can include possessive adjectives and/or words as any, whose, and occupies the first position in a sentence.
