Consecutive just means back to back. When we refer to consecutive numbers, we mean numbers like 3, 4 or 6, 7. Usually though, we say consecutive whole numbers or integers.
Consecutive numbers are any two real whole numbers that have a difference of 1 when the first number is subtracted from the second, for example a and b are consecutive if b-a = 1
