Cockatiels come in many variety of colours, nearly completing the color code. A cockatiel is often identified by its mohawk look. The cockatiel also has a red cheeck that looks like it has suffered from extensive embarrassment. You can tell the genders apart by the face, which the males are yellow or white and the females are grey

Cockatiels are parrots around 13 inches or 33 cm in length, including a long tail. They are most recognizable by their prominent yellow crests, and small patches of red on their cheeks. Their body feathers are usually grey, yellow or white. Cockatiels are related to cockatoos, but are much smaller.

Cockatiels are the smallest birds in the cockatoo family, with a length of 12 to 13 inches, including a long set of tail feathers. Like other cockatoos, cockatiels have a crest on their heads, which can be vertical, oblique or flat, depending on the bird's emotional state. Cockatiels also have orange check patches -- bright for males, subdued for females.

A cockatiel usually has a yellow head with a little wisp of feathers that stick up. They're cute, but my parrot probably wouldn't get along with them.
