What are cheese strings or string cheese?

Cheese string is low moisture Mozzarella cheese put in a round cylinder mold. People pull apart and eat it. The pulling of the cheese form strings therefore called string cheese. They are tubes of processed cheese that can be pulled apart into "strings" for eating, hence the name string cheese. They are a pretty healthy food choice in comparison to some other food snacks and can be fun and quick to eat for children or adults. If you are interested, look for them in the dairy section.

string cheese, which can come in many different brands, in many different grocery stores. its a single wrapped stick of cheese commonly mozzarella, but can sometimes include a type of cheddar, that can be torn from end to end in stringy portions. they are commonly tossed in with a childs lunchbox for school, trips, etc.

String cheese is a rather soft white cheese with a mild flavor similar to mozzarella cheese. It's called string cheese because it is easy to separate into string-like pieces.
