It depends on area. In coast province there are flat-roofed type houses. In areas of greater Asian population the houses are long as opposed to high and are also flat-roofed. In the Middle class there are bungalows. In slums houses are made up of iron sheets. In rural areas the houses are made of Mud.

Like all places; living conditions vary in Kenya. Some homes are made with sticks, debris, cow feces, etc. and some homes are million dollar houses. Tribes build their homes based on history and culture influences.

Most rural communities in Kenya do not have plumbing or electricity but these are available in some areas. Houses vary from mud houses with thatched roofs or more modern cement houses.
