Make sure that is what you want to do. It can be very stressful starting your life over again. Divorce closes that chapter in your life. If your spouse is not being good to you or cheating or abusing you I definately reccomend that you get divorced as soon as possible.

It is worthwhile to have an initial consultation with a lawyer to review your options and legal rights in the event you divorce. This includes financial, property and custody issues.

You should try to exhaust every other option before ending your marriage, like couples therapy or a temporary separation. Chances are divorce will not solve your problems as quickly as you think. If you do decide that divorce is your only option, make sure you have a good lawyer.

If you can walk out the door and feel absolutely nothing, nor have anything left to say to your spouse, then you are ready for a divorce. Your destiny isn't tied to this person. If you have any emotions left to express, then go to counseling. Divorce isn't something I would wish on my worst enemy.

Pro of divorce is you no longer have to live with the person you no longer anymore. But cons of divorce are you loose a lot of money and possibly your house and lifestlye.

Talk to a marriage counselor or Spiritual advisor to make sure divorce is the right thing for you and your partner.
