To make sure it is something you really want to do, keep your head up throughout training, and expect to deploy overseas.

Do your research. The recruiter will be a good source of info, but should not be your only source. Find out more about the MOS you are looking into, and see if anyone with experience can tell you anything. Most of all, it's a big decision, don't rush it.

Before joining the Army, one needs to go see a recruiter first. Decide what job you want, and check to see if it is avaliable. Then make sure you are able to do all physical aspects of BCT at least one month before leaving.

The biggest advice I can give is to choose a career that you want to do and not let the recruiter choose your life for you.

During a time of war, expect to be deployed. The more education you have, the better chance you have of more desirable jobs. Recruiters have quotas and some will tell you anything you want to hear; get it in writing. Tell the truth; withhold nothing as any such attempts will surely come back to haunt you. Quit drinking and smoking.

Joining the army is not just the way of earning but it is the way of life that is full of adventure and mobility.
