I believe that even with further advertising restrictions, that would only have a little effect on tobacco consumption. The decision to quit still lies on the hands of the smoker.

Irrespective of the outcomes of the long term use of their products, the tobacco industry represents a legitimate, taxable and job producing enterprise. Tobacco is perhaps singularly restricted from mass marketing in ways that producers of products with arguably equivalent social risk (alcohol, pharmaceuticals, etc. ) are not. While one may defend existing limitations, further restrictions are difficult to justify.

I personally believe that tobacco companies should be able to advertise as freely as alcohol companies and pharmaceutical companies. Advertising should be allowed by any company.

Yes, because tobacco advertisements often go after children and tend not to emphasize the dangerous effects of smoking tobacco. Further, they're trying to attract people with E-Cigs and Smokeless cigarettes.

No. Tobacco is a business that has plenty of buyers and sellers. These days you have to be unintelligent to smoke anyways with all of the information available at your fingertips thanks to the internet. To limit then any further would be ludicrous.
