A cold sore isn't going to harm your baby in anyway, although if you were to deliver, you shouldn't kiss your baby with a cold sore.

I would not worry about a cold sore during pregnancy. If you had genital herpes then it could be passed onto the baby if you had an outbreak.

There is much more concern for vaginal herpes and then only during and post delivery. Precautions should be taken after your baby is born to avoid exposing the child to cold sores.

A cold sore is a mild spread of herpes, so it could not cause any harm to the baby. However, if you are really concern, contact your doctor and tell him the full details and he will tell you exactly what to do. The cold sore can be treated with over the counter drug, but call your doctor first.
