No, typically not. See a doctor in order to rule out another pregnancy. Also, high HCG levels after a D&C can be caused by leftover tissue that for whatever reason wasn't extracted during the procedure, or what is known as a molar pregnancy--a rare but serious condition, requiring a mild form of chemotherapy to treat.

You may have high levels right after delivery yes. Depending upon how high, your doctor will monitor your health for abnormal levels.

It takes time for your body to go back to normal after having a D&C from a pregnancy. It can take anywhere from two to six weeks for your HCG levels to go back to normal.

HCG levels will gradually go down after a D&C. They will decrease by close to 50% each week. Usually about 6-9 weeks is how long it will take for them to return to normal.
