Should I build a wooden garbage can?

It wouldn't be the best idea. Sure, you would be saving money on plastic, but the wooden ones wouldn't last long and smells/liquids would end up permeating the wood.

I would only do this if you were going to put another non-wood garbage in it. Wooden one would hold the smell, rot and it would be hard to clean.
