The effects of the NuvaRing typically end 13 - 28 days after you discontinue use - once you've resumed your normal period, you'll know that it's gone. Unless you have a history of blood clots or are a smoker, you are in a very low-rish category for developing complications like blood clots.

You shouldn't be worried, whether using NuvaRing or after discontinuation of its use. The risk of blood clots is low, but present. Just keep it in the very back of your mind.

If you have discontinued NuvaRing and are not taking any other hormonal medications, your risk of developing blood clots is very low.
