Lochia, the vaginal discharge you have after giving birth, will vary from bright red bleeding at first, to pink, brown, yellow, or clear discharge in the weeks following the birth. All of these are normal, but if you have concerns about your specific situation, you should contact your health care provider.

After giving birth your discharge, will eventually fade to a yellow-white discharge. This is totally normal as long as it does not smell foul.

A yellow-tinged discharge after giving birth is perfectly normal. Your uterus will shed its thick lining in a discharge called "lochia. " This is similar to your period, except that the flow is somewhat heavier. The flow will start as bright red, change to reddish-brown, and then to yellowish-white. The flow will last several weeks.
