One of my two pet parakeets just died, I am afraid the other will be sad without his friend do you know if he will be okay?

You will want another bird but you didn't say if the deceased was male or female. If it was a male, are you sure it died of natural causes? Brotherly love is not a strong parakeet trait. If it was female and was murdered then you will want another male but it can't be the same color as the survivor.

He should be fine, but watch for things like plucking or refusing to eat, screeching, etc. Parakeets are very social, and inexpensive- also offered for adoption in classifieds for free or a small rehoming fee. You might like to get him another friend- parakeets usually have no problem adapting. You can put the new bird in an adjoining cage initially.

I don't think so.. You should manage a partner for him other ways he will be bore. They are very emotional birds and they live in pair.. but before you manege it make sure you new bird is healthy..
