On a Ford Focus, my AC light keeps going off. Why?

This is because a sensor in the A/C system detected a problem and shut the A/C down to avoid damage. This could be because of low refrigerant in the system. It could also be a bad belt or other component.

On most ford cars when the ac light goes off it means the car need to have freon and oil placed into the car my car was having a problem and I took it to a local car shop it cost about 140. 00 for them to add freon and oil. Don't take to the dealership its more money.

If your are driving a Ford Focus in hills with full of mist, if you switch the AC automatically the battery charge will be decreased and so the the AC light will keep going off, so please do not use AC while driving in hill station. Please try to recharge your car battery every month and pour distilled water.

See the setting of your AC. The green light means compressor is on. When the compressor is on the refrigerant is circulating. When the refrigerant is circulating the coolness is attained. When the AC light is off means that only the blower, without the coolness, works.
