If your microsoft work is frozen, you might as well take a screen shot and save it. You cannot get your work back because the program is frozen, once you close it, it is as well as gone. Might as well just retype the work instead of looking for a solution, and next time save it after 10 minutes.

It depends on what version of Word you have. Sometimes Word automatically saves your files so when it crashes, you can start back up from the last saved point.

You can hit control, Alt. Delete to get into the program manager and try to see what is going on with the program but you may not be able to save your work. What you have done up to now unless save only exists in RAM.

Turn off the computer with the power button,do not try to do a normal shutdown,it will not work, then after restarting the computer, launch word and it should come up with the work you are missing. it will be called recovered document at the top. At this step, save immediately because whatever caused it to freeze in the first place could happen again.
