My IUD came out during a sexual encounter. Why am I still having a lot of cramping?

This happened about two weeks ago.

You need to get to the doctor right away as no one can get an intelligent answer as we don't know what happened. It is possible the iud caused some damage that you are not aware of and needs to be treated like right now.

It shouldn't have come out, it could have damaged the lining of your uterus or you could even possibly be pregnant.

The uterus must have contracted to push out the IUD. It is possible that there is some scar tissue that is causing the cramping. Or that the contractions that pushed it out are still happening.
