If it did not start even once after putting in the new battery; it would most likely be a problem with your starter. While it doesn't always happen, in general when the starter of a car goes bad it will start to make a slightly different sound then normal when you try to crank your car.

You may have a bad starter. There is a solenoid that is often stuck, try tapping the starter lightly with a hammer and see if that frees it up. If not, check grounding cable of the batter. Check the fuse of the starter. Also check for voltage at the starter terminals when the engine is cranked.

Check your alternator, it may be draining the battery. Take the car to a garage, it may be the car starter which is bad. Also check you spark plug wires to see if they are loose.

Well if I knew what caused the dead battery I could better help you. It is probably a blown fuse or a loose connection.

It could have another electrical issue. Like a loose connection or blown fuse. Do a check of the whole electrical system. You might also want to test your alternator.

The problem could be the engine or just a bad battery. You need to take it in to have it checked out.
