My German Shepherd has been having diarrhea all day, is he sick?

Some dogs experience diarrhea every now and then. It could be something he ate that's not agreeing. If the dog is acting otherwise alright, he's probably got a temporary 'bug.' If you change some dogs' diet, they will get diarrhea.

It is possible that your dog has eaten something he should not have, or maybe you have given him something he cannot tolerate. If the dog has been having diarrhea for more than a day, please take him to the vet. It may be something serious.

All dogs do get diarrhea from time to time but that doesn't mean it's normal. It may be a good idea to go ahead and collect a sample and call a vet. They can take a look at the sample to determine if something is wrong with your pup or if it is just normal.

Diarrhea is the body's attempt to flush something out of the intestinal tract. So there is something in there that the body doesn't want.

Your dog is sick and should be taken to the vet to be cared for. A dog will have diarrhea if he eats something that does not agree with him.

Yes, and now he may be dehydrated as well. This could just be a reaction to new food or something strange that he ate. Some cooked rice may settle his stomach. You should make sure that he is well hydrated and if it continues contact your vet.

Diarrhea is not uncommon from time to time with no explanation. If diarrhea lasts more than a day, or if it's accompanied by other symptoms, take him to the vet.
