It could mean that the baby is swallowing some of his nasal secretions or it could mean that he/she is experiencing irritation of the stomach, which shows up as mucus in the stool. In any case, if it concerns you, it is best to ask your doctor to explain to you his findings in a more concise manner.

All newborn babies have mucus in their feces for the first several bowel movements, it is normal and nothing to worry about. If its not gone in a week tell the doctor.

This could mean that your newborn has diarrhea. This is not an uncommon condition in newborns but consulting your doctor even further may be a wise choice.

Mucus is a jelly type substance present in stool. It is not a serious thing. Sometimes the baby will have stomach pain due to this. Obey instructions of baby's paediatrician.
