Yes you can get your rims back. This will not affect the original value of the car. Any aftermarket parts put on a vehicle does not affect the bluebook value of the vehicle.

You may be able to salvage your totaled cars "rims", however,if your car was totaled, the value of the car is already "ruined". If they were custom or speecialty rims, then I would suggest salvaging them if possible, or maybe selling them for scrap metal.

If the insurance company hasn't written you a check yet then tell them you want the rims and unfortunately they will adjust how much you get for the car. If you have recieved the check already then you will have to pay to get them back.

If your car was totaled and your going through insurance for a claim more then likely they wont let you take anything off the car unless you buy the car back from insurance. You would have to talk to the insurance agent but more then likely they wont let you take parts off at all.
