It is essential to reduce irritation by changing your baby's diaper often and as soon as they have a bowel movement. Allow your baby to go without a diaper.

Take him to his pediatrician. The doctor will prescribe some ointment that you can put on his bottom. Right now your child is probably very sore and it's really painful for him. Make sure his diaper is not too tight. In the future change his diaper frequently and apply diaper rash ointment.

When my daughter was a baby she had very sever diaper rash. The best remedy I found was to bath her and pat her dry very well. Then I would lay her on a waterproof pad without her diaper for a few hrs. a day. She healed in no time!

Keep him or her very, very dry (frequent changes) and apply desitin and neosporin about every other hour; bathe frequently.
