Isn't plastic glassware an oxymoron?

Plastic silverware is too, right?

"Plastic glassware" is an oxymoron because glassware is by definitiion made of glass. However, "silverware" in modern usage doesn't have to be made out of silver -- most "silverware" is stainless steel -- and so "plastic silverware" is not an oxymoron.

Plastic glassware is not an oxymoron because the term glassware is used for the item that is used for drinking. Glassware is not describing what the object is made of.
