Is essence, the gas bill will depend upon the temperature rise and volume of space to heat, not the number of radiators. Sure, shutting off defined space heated by contained radiators will cut costs, but it's the volume heated that is the important factor.

Its possible. It would be more correct to say that the gas bill is higher based on the square footage of your home. Since a larger home would require more radiators to heat, and more radiators means more gas to heat the pipes, the gas bill would be higher.

Not necessarily. If you have one radiator that runs constantly to heat the whole house then it would be cheaper to have multiple radiators that run less frequently. Where it would cost you more is if you have multiple radiators that you run constantly. Just like if you had every light in the house on all day.
