Is there such a thing as an American Baptist Liberal?

There is an important distinction to be made between Southern Baptist and American Baptist. Within the American Baptist church there is a small minority population that is quite liberal. However, it is debatable whether this population is in line with official denominational doctrine.

Probably not. Most Baptists in America are extremely conservative. They are very much against the liberal "agenda" and do not believe in gay marriage and abortion specifically.

Not that I have ever seen. The faith and it's followers tend to be quite conservative in general. Hope that helps.
