Is there such a thing as a black chihuahua?

I only see light colored ones.

Yes, there are solid black Chihuahuas, but they're rare. Less than one percent of registered Chihuahuas are the rare solid black. More common is the black & tan - almost entirely black with tan legs and face markings. The solid black Chihuahua is a recessive genetic trait that occurs 1/8 times when both the parents carry the gene.

I've personally seen a black and tan chihuahua, but until now I've never considered how rare a black chihuahua is. They do exist, but I'm not entirely sure if it affects their conformation or not.

there is such things as black chihuahuas but they are probably a little harder to find. you go on google and you can see images of them. may be a little more pricy to buy.

Yes, there are black chihuahua. In fact, chihuahuas have many different colored coats. The black chihuahua always reminded me of a small doberman.
