Either the phone company or cell service can trace it back and determine where it came from. usually you have to put a specific trace on your phone so if it calls they can track it.

Sometimes if you have a private call on your phone you can press *67 to identify the caller. If that doesn't work a subpoena is required in most cases.

There is no legal way to determine a private caller that I know of, but the easiest way would be to answer the phone and then you will know who the private caller is. I suppose if someone was harassing you you could get help from the phone company in finding out the identity of the private caller.

Unfortunately there is currently no way to use technology to determine who a private caller is. You can always ask the caller directly.

No, there is no way of determining it. This information is either available with your carrier or the police. They would not release the information according to my knowledge.

There really is no way to tell who a private caller is unless you pick up the phone and talk to them. People block their numbers using *67 many of times to make prank calls which you can't trace. Some people just have unlisted numbers.
