A toothache certainly will cause headache. Each tooth has a deep root that extends into the bone. Directly above are the sinuses, which can become irritated by infection in a tooth. At either side of the jaw, the mandibular joint can become irritated and cause a headache. Headaches are especially common when wisdom teeth are causing problems.

You have a nerve in your head called a trigeminal nerve. It's the largest sensory nerve in your head. If you grind your teeth, you might get toothaches and headaches.
