There are actually a few, though adults and children seem to be listed seperately. One is the National Center for Missing Adults.

I think you can go to public record finder/missing I am pretty sure you can go here and find out about situations involving missing people. I sometimes want to check on things too. I also obsessively check on family / friends that I haven't talked to in a long time. If this is not correct than google it.
