If you love the look, then that is your style, and that is all that matters. When you look at it everyday, you should derive some pleasure from it. Someone else's style won't have that affect on you. The stores still stock their shelves with swags and jabots. They are classic styles.

This style is still popular with many decorators and homeowners. One way to ensure that it doesn't look "dated" is to use classic fabrics. Toile fabrics are one way to keep this look timeless. Be sure to keep in mind the style of the room while choosing any window treatment.

Yes, they will compliment any room with a window in need of alittle color and decor, rather than a curtain or drape. A bay window is an ideal spot. A bathroom with a window above the shower would also be a great spot. They're also, perfect during the warmer seasons to give a room a light and airy feel.

No this look is no longer in style. The newer window covers are not as overpowering. By using lighter fabrics and softer colors you can still use swags. Jabots can still be impressive as long as you limit the size of the billow in the jabot and use sheers with a soft pattern.

Swag and jabot style curtains are classics. It's the fabrics and designs of the fabrics that change with current trends. Sometimes just changing the size and length of the curtains may be sufficient.
