The Nikon D60 is a compact digital single-lens reflex camera with changeable lenses. It is an excellent camera and easy to operate for a DSLR, but more complicated that a compact digital camera (point-and-shoot). Many beginners start with a less expensive point-and-shoot and trade up as they gain skills.

The Nikon D60 is an SLR camera and supposed to be entry-level. However, it seems to be that most beginning digital photographer do not have a good understanding of SLR and the other more advanced settings on cameras of this type.

I believe it would be, Nikon are an excellent camera manufacturer and the D60 has a good amount of features that you will find easy to use, these features also give you room to grow with the camera as you get more experienced. It also has a great deal of lenses when they are required

The Nikon D60 a a prosumer grade camera, if you want something simple to operate you should choose a superzoom or a point-and-shoot.

If you the money for it, yes. It's always a good investment. A D60 is a camera you're going to keep for quite a while. The operating of a Nikon is pretty much straight forward, having easy access to menus and basic functions.
